About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Michaels is a visionary designer with innovative style and timeless creations.

She received her Master’s degree from the National Academy for Fine Arts and Fashion “Nikolay Pavlovich” in Sofia, the capital of her native Bulgaria.

Married to a successful musician, Elizabeth travelled the world for 5 years until she made Los Angeles her home. Here she continued her education at “Otis College Of Art And Design” expanding her knowledge on pattern making and textile and learning graphic design and desktop publishing at the National Computer Training Institute. From 1999-2003 Elizabeth took classes at Santa Monica City College on fashion photography and jewelry design.

Elizabeth has worked as a freelance designer in fashion and entertainment in Los Angeles for the last 20 years. Her style is unique, sensuous and sophisticated - It turns heads.

Her passion is fine fabrics: silk, cashmere, linen, cotton and leather. Her designs have sold at the premier stores in Los Angeles – Maxfield, Church, Orpheum, Luxe and Le Bra, many of which have been featured in music videos, in music tours (Usher World Tour 2002 and American Tour 2004, rock singer Jim Kerr from Simple Minds, Costume designer for the “Introduction To Popera” classical crossover extravaganza at the Kodak Theatre”), editorials (styled heiress Petra Ecclestone for Flaunt Magazine, Rouge Magazine, Super Street Bike Magazine, Runaway Magazine, and International Romance magazine), ice-skating and dance competitions (Angela Nikodinov-a US Olympian). She has made couture designs for celebrities [Whitney Houston, Linda Hamilton, Cher, Rihanna, Sheila E, Karina Smirnoff (Dancing with the Stars), and Dulce Maria].

Elizabeth has collaborated with other designers and artists. With designer J. Gerard she made one of a kind hand painted on silk pieces and leather accessories for Rock stars and private clients. She created an exquisite handbag collection with accessories’ designer Lori Rodkin that was exclusively sold at Maxfield ($5,000-10,000 per bag).

Elizabeth invests her time and effort into creative projects that have positive impact on the community. She likes to connect with people who are creative, inspiring, and positive. In 2002 Elizabeth teamed up with the charitable project “A community of Angels” giving kids a chance to soar. Close to 200 artist designed angel sculptures which were placed all over Los Angeles. Her “Angel of Love, Light, and Giving” had over 2500 fiberoptic lights and won the grand prize in a silent auction with all proceeds being donated to charity”.

 Elizabeth has two children with her husband Anthony. Her daughter Jacklin is following her mom’s footsteps and studied at the famous Central Saint Martin College of Art and Design with alumni such as Alexander MacQueen, John Galliano and Stella McCartney. Her son Robert is a graduate from the Marshall School of Business at USC majoring in business and film.

 Elizabeth is an ice-skating superfan, animal lover and a novice yoga enthusiast.

 She loves travelling, photography and yoga. 

 She is the happiest at her home studio where she houses her vintage Singer sewing machine.
